AMERICAN TREND: GAY CHARACTER IN EVERY OTHER SERIES
HONG KONG TREND: FAKE GAY FAILED GAYNESS SUSPICION IN EVERY OTHER SERIES

If something gay happens in a TVB drama, you can almost be certain that a) it’s fake; b) it will end up tragically. Seriously, it’s not even funny, it’s actually offensive, paired with the common reaction of those who suspect: disappointed, disgusted, rejecting. To make things even worse, the local usage of popular culture Brokeback Mountain is cheesy in a disrespectful way to the film and to language. To use that constantly as a representation of gayness in general is simply irrelevantly lame.
